Yes, these are extraordinary times. Members of team fascist should be named and shamed. Those are not easy words for me to say, but the truth of our present reality is stark and naked

W. Kamau Bell's avatar

Thank you for getting better at saying it.

So simple yet so hard for people to understand.

W. Kamau Bell's avatar

Apparently soooooo hard.😬

Drump is way worse than a fascist and there is no excuse for wanting to be near this creature.

Drump is a know-nothing pedophile protecting pedophile fascist with the interior designer taste of a colorblind third rate mafia brothel boss.

..... and don't get me started on 'him' when I'm in a bad mood!

I don't own 5 sports teams, but I ___________.

No buts. There's no excuse to coagulate with fascists.

Later, coagulator.

W. Kamau Bell's avatar

Such a weird way to frame an excuse.🤷🏿‍♂️

Ian Ogard's avatar

If I was going to try to make some kind of sense out of it I'd have to try to get inside their heads, and that's not a place where I want to go.

It’s like a fake apology with a side of flex

I realize not everything's a competition -- but, Kamau, you win every single prize for your genius use of the word "coagulate" as the verb meaning "the way in which fascists gather."

Because I need some frivolity in these times, I'd enjoy seeing submissions for what the collective noun for fascists is. (Murder of crows, pride of lions, ________ of fascists.) I mean, there are so many apt options!

W. Kamau Bell's avatar

I really enjoyed using “coagulate” like that. Thank you!

Sally Richman's avatar

I would say a slum of fascists. Or a compost pile, a puddle, an algae bloom of fascists

Kate Eifrig's avatar

The level to which "algae bloom" is applicable is fantastic. (At the same time, I guess algae's more beneficial to ecosystems than fascists. SIGH)

I think you should stick with what you are liking - If you assert Kamau wins all the prizes for the way he used coagulate, let's formalize it! A coagulate of fascists (pronounced with a short "a" to differentiate from the verb)

Excellent rules! I would just add, in addition to this: "If you need to pee and you are standing outside of Peter Thiel’s house, just wet yourself. We will all understand." - May I suggest, that it would also be acceptable to pee on his landscaping. Or in his moat, or on his fence, or whatever.

Those cross-country trips where you can't find the nearest gas station soon enough...1 is allowed to go all over the landscapes of thiel, or some of the others. If ya have TP with you and it's number 2, even better. Especially if it looks like a colonoscopy prep.

I had to stop volunteering at our local Food Shelf because the Director said no one can have a political conversation because it risks their 501c3 status. BS.

Decent speech is to NOT be in photos or anywhere near fascists or fascist wannabes. Very disappointed in these people, especially Ohanian. I hope Serena bitch slapped him when he got home.

DT's avatar

Jeeez, what absolute BS - 501c3 cannot engage in partisan political activities, but that does not mean volunteers cannot have conversations that are political or even partisan. Obviously guided by their own cowardice.

Omg, these 10 rules rule!! #’s2 and 8 are my faves, though. And the killer term ‘fascist coagulation’ needs to be instantly memeified and used liberally wherever possible!! Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Trump also likes UFC bc he likes violence: other people’s and his own, committed by proxy. Loves it, in fact. It can lull him right to sleep, he’s so chill with violence. So there’s that.

The list of folks hangin’ with the fascists, has grown into a SCROLL. The latest adjacent incident that rattled me was a short soundbite of Jerry Seinfeld leaving a Knicks game, being asked about Gaza and declaring that, “It doesn’t exist!” YIKES 😬 (finds pen, adds name).

BTW, 2014 was a loooong time ago and the orange turd was not the “president” yet. The fascist faucet wasn’t flowing then like it is now, ten years later.

Those rules are spot on and golden as the light of that special hour by The Bay when the hills shine. ✨

Beautiful imagery.

Thank you. It is such a calming and beautiful moment to catch.

I saw that blasted JG-L post last night and felt ill, and imagined that “WTF, Joe?” would be merely a shout into the void. When I read this post, I came running in so fast to clink keyboards and cheer that I bounced, hard, off the comment settings, horrified to find that I hadn’t already joined the club. I ran just as quickly to remedy that oversight, so I could come back here and say thank you, for all that you do.

W. Kamau Bell's avatar

Thank you! I truly, truly appreciate the support!

This desire to pretend 'nothing unusual is going on' and then decide to attend a gathering sponsored by evil people reminds me of sociology we studied in the 1970s. I think it was Harold Garfinkel, who examined how everyday people understand their interactions, ethnomethodology. Because it's threatening to some people's sense of self and safety to think that maybe things have gotten so bad in our nation that they have to take a moral stand and avoid an event that sounds like fun. That's not fair!

Wake up!

I hadn’t thought about that t-shirt that I’m wearing on the Rogan photo in yeeeeeeears. I don’t think I would wear it these days though.
