W. Kamau Bell Gets His Act Together: Exclusive Pre-Sale Ticket Link For You
Reserve your tickets for a series of intimate stand-up shows at the Berkeley Rep.
Hey, Those Who Are With Me!
I have a fun announcement to make that is coming to YOU, my Substack folks, before anyone else! This is specifically for my folks in the San Francisco Bay Area or who are traveling out here in the next few months.
I am getting my stand-up comedy act together AGAIN! I’m doing another series of Saturday shows at The Bakery, an intimate 60-seat theater at the famed Berkeley Rep. Since my last run at Berkeley Rep, a lot has changed in the world – Biden to Kamala 😁– but also not much has changed – Trump to Trump and Junior Dancin’ Vance. And I still need to get my stand-up comedy act together.
After my previous sold-out 8 week run at the Rep, we are doing it again. But this time there will be two shows a night! (It’s really one show in the late afternoon and one show at night.) The early show is at 4:30pm for the parents. And the “late show” is at 7:30pm for the older parents. The run begins August 24 and goes through October 12. (We’re off on September 21.) If you come to a show, you get the unique opportunity to witness me literally getting my act together right before your eyes. Each show, I’ll be experimenting with fresh material, honing the new classics, discussing current events, and sharing new stories about my life and family — all while trying not to stress about the upcoming election. There may even be some special guests. If you came to a show in the earlier run, there will be new material in here, too.
Because you are a member of my Substack community, RIGHT NOW you have access to purchase tickets BEFORE ANYONE ELSE. You get a 24-hour head start! Click the link below to get your tickets.
In the immortal words of Blanche, Dorothy, Sophia, and Rose, thank you for being a friend!
Bless you! Wish we could be there but we live on the wrong coast! Believe!
Okay ….we kicked off the first show yesterday at the old people hour of 4:30. How did it feel to have all those grammas who love you in the front row? The funniest thing was unscripted…N. G. consulting with you offstage and your extemporaneous comments from behind the curtain. You came off like a priest in a confessional! Hilarious.
The most poignant scenes; your descriptions of fatherhood in the 21st century and the little “tricks” ya been playin’ along the way.
Well done, brave dad of baby women. Keep going! One day you’ll be over age 75 and 51 will feel spry.
