ok, first of all I love everything you write. always. But this post - I was almost crying in the lasagna along with you. This is amazing! You will always be MY Secretary of Education and congratulations on all the goodness!
DonorChoose is a such a great organization. My daughter uses it for her classroom and it's made a huge difference. Thank you so much for choosing them.
When you won, I jumped up and screamed and clapped so loud all my cats ran for cover! I have never been so invested in a game show lol! I even ended up crushing a can in my hand by accident when you got one wrong ha! That was the most beautiful fate when you got the Olivia Rodrigo question. With how awful everything is in the world it was pure joy watching you compete and such much needed levity. Congratulations!! All of us here already knew how smart you were, but now you have a trophy to prove it!
Congrats on your win! As an educator with a social worker brother who supports the Oakland school system, this post made me emotional knowing all the good that will come from your donation for so many children across the US. I also love that Juno got some air-time as part of your "prep team". I saw your show in Berkeley earlier this month and got to meet your amazing family. Juno was such a good sport during the show, tallying up all your curse words. Lol! Your wife was very sweet to my daughter and me while we waited for you to finish up with the book signing, and we had the extra special treat of also getting to hear Sami perform on stage during her sound check. She has a great voice! Thank you again for taking a bit of time between shows to chat with my daughter and me. It meant a lot to us!
Okay, first of all - Yes I was totally blown away to read that this was filmed last November! When you said you had to keep it a secret all this time, I thought it sounded like a challenge but nothing you can't handle. But then it hit me - Everyone else involved, including the entire audience, also had to keep it a secret O_O
BRAVO! Doin' Oakland and other schools PROUD, and all of us, too! I knew you were someone special since seeing you on Kelly's Corrigan's Tell Me More. Keep up all your good works! xoxo
I loved the pic of you and your beautiful family! Congrats on the Jeopardy win! I so wish I could make it down to NYC to see you at Tribeca- good luck with the interview!
Wow, that was a long time to clam up. I'm impressed, congrats on that too! (Oddly enuf, I also knew that final answer, cuz I am *still* watching Newhart! LOL)
Thanks, Kamau, for standing up for Black and Brown children—especially now, when so much support for our communities is being rolled back. Immigrant families and students of color need allies like you more than ever. My students in Deep East Oakland are feeling your support and channeling it into creativity, collaboration, and storytelling. You can see their work here: www.donorschoose.org/mr-tomas
Congratulations on your Jeopardy win! I am doubly thrilled because not only am I a fan of yours, I’m also a longtime supporter of Donors Choose myself.
I’m so happy that the world now knows the truth: you’re the smartest celebrity on the planet. I absolutely love hearing your inner dialogue from your Final Jeopardy victory, so awesome. Also, 2 year olds are badasses who give no Fs about what anyone thinks about what they’re doing, so YES. Watch out, Linda.
