I know I just suggested in Office Hours that you write a parenting book on being a great girl dad, but I’d also like to offer the proposal that you write a coffee table book of short biographies of all MAGAs big & small that includes the brilliant & apropos nicknames you give them. This is really one of your many superpowers. I’m for certain they’d proudly sell it on bookshop.org. I love all your substacks, but this one is especially poignant. So looking forward to see you in Berkeley on 4/12! ✊🏼🖤
Also, the image of him walking through a group of students, seemingly half of them children of color, and then smiling like a buffoon standing next to Linda McMahon with his signed EO of progress, makes me physically ill. Good grief 🙄🫠
I'm with ya - I can talk to a lot of them at my next family reunion. I will break the "no political talk" rule. Sadly my older sister, who was the one who made the rule and made sure I kept my mouth shut with a swift kick under the table has "gone on to glory" so my shins will be safe - unless she can kick me from the "great beyond".
As usual, outstanding! However, I’m not sure I agree with, “Except for that one lady who decided to not take Trump’s pardon.” She’s from here in Colorado Springs and has been interviewed locally several times. She’s utterly convinced she did the right thing, and on and on with the usual Trump cult blather. It may be the right thing to do to have a conversation with her, but I’m not convinced any amount of discourse will de-program her thinking.
Oh, and still waiting for my copy of the book. They’re giving new meaning to snail mail. 🙄
I'm with you. I live in a progressive area but there are still a couple of "President Know Nothing" flags here and there which makes my stomach turn and confounds me. I've felt that anyone still waving the flag is beyond talking to... but maybe not?
I'd be with you on talking to Trumpers, except none of them are speaking to me anymore.
That probably means you are doing a good job of being honest with them.
Outstanding WKB!!!!
My sincere thanks!✊🏿
Actions Speak Louder
My child, I fear,
…our challenge is here
For years we taught
…that words would ease fears
Today we learn
…those lessons are not so
We use lots of words
…but still off they go
I’m sorry to say,
…the old times have passed
You’ll need fewer words
…and actions that last
I wish it weren’t so,
…I’m sorry to say
But yesterday’s gone,
…it’s ass kicking day!

I just lol'd at a kick from the great beyond. <3
I may be mistaken but the DoE was institued to help integrate schools. No racist administration can let that stand.
You're right, it will take a zen-like approach. But I'm a qigong instructor now. :)
